2021 – A Year in Two Parts: The Colour Version

Doing the flowers for the wedding of Rachel and Reece, on the first really hot day of the year, also seemed to bring back the colour to our lives. Working with a neutral palette isn’t that easy to achieve in June, but we managed it and the new Mr and Mrs James had the wedding of their dreams at the most tasteful location, captured by one of the best wedding photographers there is – Benjamin Wheeler.

Wreath encounters with Ethel…

Late last year we were asked if we could help with the front cover of the Christmas edition of the Live Ribble Valley magazine. Beautifully produced, we know many of our customers read it and the Christmas edition always adorns Mrs B’s coffee table.  A large wreath was suggested. Floral workshops- what goes on? Sarah waxes lyrical again

What do our floral workshops involve? Hopefully this post explains. ‘A real feast for the senses’ was a comment made by one of our first ever guests and that has become our mantra as we plan each workshop. Our aim is for our guests to smell that unrivalled fresh flower scent as they step on […]

Floral workshops – Confessions of an addict

A flowery post by Sarah. Last year I must have attended at least 8 workshops on flowers or how to grow them. This might seem odd since most of my own work is in running floral workshops. But, for me, there really is no better way to spend a day. Surrounded by the scent of […]

Inspiration 2014

Amidst the Christmas madness we took a moment today to reflect upon the books that have inspired us throughout the year. We also couldn’t get by without first-rate olive oil; gin; chocolate; and scented candles from The Yorkshire Soap Company. Sarah dreams of silk ribbon, sharp scissors and a new pair of secateurs. Mrs […]
